thought I would wiki this Furai, and low and behold

The engine is developed and built by renowned rotary tuner, Racing Beat, who also built the car's rotary-shaped muffler canister

Phil, to add to your first video of the BMW, this was at a local Caffeine and Octane meet we have up here on a monthly basis, all kinds of high end cars to old muscle. I have no clue what kind of exhaust it was, but it sounded great.
