Your other/old cars
#63
Im only twenty so no high dollar fancy stuff here, but here it is.
First: '53 GMC truck. No pics.
Started restoring it, was almost done when I was 15 but me and my dad couldnt come to a conclusion on which motor. I want a rat he wanted a mouse.
Sold it.
Second Vehicle.
1969 Pontiac Firebird Convertible.
43K miles. Bought from original owner. Still ran and drove. Did some small stuff to it, just maintenance though. Plan was to rip the motor (Pontiac 350) and do a late model LSx motor and 6 speed or stay pontiac and go with a 455 and keep the 350 badges since the only exterior difference is a slightly taller deck. Intermidiate block FTW.
Had a pontiac collector look at it and tell me it was an H.O which is apparently a big deal, and it was excpetionally documented and had all its paperwork, so No Go on cutting it up.
Put it up for sale on a pontiac websiet for more than twice what I paid for it and it was gonna within the week.
Some of its papers
The car
Third:1996 Chevrolet Silverado Z71 "Greengo"
Got it for pretty cheap and in good condition. Started wheelin broke 4 trannies within a year. Had about 164K miles when I got it. Had almost 200K when I sold it. I have never taken as good of car as any vehicle as I did this truck. Never even seen ANY vehicle that old with the paint in that condition. It was washed twice a week, underhood and undercarriage, and body. Waxxed once a weeked and completely stripped and claybarred polished etc etc etc every 3 or 4 months. Learned to detail on her.
Still regret selling my baby. I see her everyonce and a while.
Fourth: 2005 Dodge Ram Quad Cab. Hemi. 3.92s.
Pops gave it to me. Loved it. Heck of a party wagon. Ran pretty good for a truck. Gave it back.
Fifth: 1997 Chevy Camaro Z28 "Alice"
Bought her a few years ago for 4K with 72000 miles.
Served DD duty for a while then couldnt stand stackin miles on her and bought a DD. Mods
Cam
Bolt Ons
Viper Spec tranny
3.73s
Giggle Gas
Some small stuff and starting on new motor and suspension now.
When I bought her.
How she sits now. hit and run in a parking lot. Have appoitnment with body shop to be completely repainted.
Sixth:1991 Honda Accord.
Paid 1000 for it. POS. Had a honda timing belt pop after 20K miles on it.
Ran it into the ground and played lots of bumper cars, and a few off road excursions.
Seventh: 1991 Chevy S10 Blazer. 5spd 4.3 "The Trooper"
Was a ranch truck for about a decade, it survived so I sought mercy on it and bought it back to restore and go wheelin in it.
Saw its first oil change in about 5 years. Runs like a champ. Currently going through the suspension, replacing everything. Doing a Tbar crank and some shackles out back to fit the 31s and cragar soft 8s I have sitting at the shop.
Soon to be green (like the old Z71) and everything under the body line rhino lined.

first (technically my father's):
(no picture)
88 vw golf 4-door base model - 1.8 sohc, 5 speed. it always ran great, but died of rust at ~190k. i pushed the clutch in one day and my seat tipped over - the seat tracks had rotted loose from the floor. amusingly, some lady backed into me in a parking lot at one point, crunching in the drivers door. the insurance check was more than my father paid for it 2 years prior... so we banged the door out with a sledge and i kept driving it .
second (also my father's):
94 ford escort wagon - 1.9 sohc, auto. it's the white wagon in this photo, this is the only pic i can find. i hated this car from the day he got it, mainly because of the auto. well, a week later i got in a small accident with it while delivering pizza. shortly after that i left for college. while i was gone for the semester he fixed it up and it was running great again. then, when i came home for christmas break i took the car to go to the movies.... hit black ice just as i crested a hill (which is also a wierd off-camber corner to the right) and hit a full size chevy p/u almost head on. he fixed it again (kind of) and sold it.
third (technically MY first car):
(no picture)
94 ford escort wagon - 1.9 5 speed. paid $500 from my grandfather. low miles, ran pretty well, 5 speed.... i could deal with it at least. i drove this car into the GROUND. while i had it i replaced the struts and the front brakes. eventually the clutch started slipping like crazy so i put a brand new one in there and sold it to a co worker for $1000.
fourth:
91 escort gt - 1.8 BP 5 speed. paid $500 for this guy when the clutch went out on the wagon. i originally wanted to BP swap the wagon but hell... the 2 door was cooler and i basically got the car for free after i sold the wagon. drove it from 145k to 190k. i had some scary and stupid times in this car. i replaced the transmission once after i blew up the diff from too much wheel hop. i parted out out this past summer and made back most of what i had into it. i needed money to buy a protege (see below) and it was pretty badly rotted at this point anyway.
fifth:
95 escort gt - 1.8 BP, 5 speed. paid $300 for this car with no interior, no exhaust system, spent brakes, "not running", with ZERO RUST! I showed up with a trailer to pick it up... popped the hood, plugged the VAF meter back in, and drove it onto the trailer. the seller stared in disbelief lol. i bought this car for the purpose of the project, i had it about 11 months before it was finished and registered. still have this one of course.
sixth:
90 protege awd - 1.8 sohc 5 speed. paid $1000 for this car, as you can see thats double what i'd ever spent on a car before. it was perfect though... awd (rare!), black, not too much rust, etc. i drove it for a few months until i blew up the brand new tranny in my turbo escort. i decided that i needed something that could tow the escort, and sold it for $1500 (i had put the new-ish brakes and suspension from the 91 escort on it, so i kinda broke even). the new owner swapped a BP head onto the SOHC bottom end and installed a turbo... cant wait to go check it out.
seventh:
1989 ranger 2wd - 2.3 sohc 5 speed. paid $450 for this beast - 269k miles and hardly any rust, runs great. freak occurance? either way i'm sick of it at this point and i'd like to trade it for another escort or protege/323/mx3/etc.
