Default 1996 Miata from the Netherlands

Hey everybody!

My name is Giel, 26 years old and I live in the city Eindhoven, doubt if anybody here has heard of it..

At the moment I own 2 mx5's

A bonestock 1998 MX5 grey NB and a minimal modified 1996 1.8 vvt black Miata which might be a known car on here.

Story about the 1996 Black Miata:
About 10 years ago a Dutchman bought a (sorry if I'm wrong) 400hp Miata with a 2L stroker kit owned if I'm right at that time by Daniel?

The car came to Holland, drove a few times and the engine killed itself as far as I know.

Few years pass and a friend of mine buys that car, with the still broken engine, gets the engine all fixed up, put together and just when the engine was ready to go in the car, he sadly sold the engine and it became a non runner..

Again a few years pass, the car still not running and not registered yet, I decide to buy the car from him because my current at that time mx5 had waaay too much rust.

Back then I had a 1991 red NA which had a 1.8 vvt swap done to it and alot of exterior mods.

So we stared to do a reshell, eveything exept the outside look has been swapped over to the Black 1996 Miata, the car finally got registered and now I'm happy to say that I own that car for a little over a year now.

The car has been in the Netherlands for just over 10 years, had I think 3 owners between Daniel and me.

The wheels the car came on (949 6UL 15x9) have also been sold unfortunately..

I would love to get in touch with the seller in the USA, just to keep him updated on the car but no luck yet unfortunately.

The plans for the black Miata aren't as big as they were back then. At the moment the 1.8 vvt engine is stock apart from a trimmed head. I am trying to plan to put a small turbo on it and looking for around 175-200hp.

So not as much as it used to have, but still should be fun!

If anyone has any idea how I can get it touch with the last American owner, or has questions or anything like that, feel free to comment or pm ofcourse!

Soo picture time!

How the car looked back in America, damn I love this look <3 I still want the 949 6UL wheels..

The engine that was in the car back then.

How the car looks in it's current form. Not much different compared to when it was in America, different wheels (I know, jr wheels, it's not permanent) and a Carbonmiata trunk with ducktail, carshop glow turning signals and Jass Lowprofile lights. All the other things are still the same.

About a week before it's registration checkup, it was brought to a Dutch MX5 event on a trailer to reveal it.

Eeh, right.
Small little update.

I finally got the new wheels!

These are 949 racing 6ul 15x8.
Pretty common on miata's in America. In Holland you don't see them that much, only a hand full of them are on 949's

Also made the upgrade to a nice Wilwood big brake kit, couldn't be happier about them!

Meanwhile I'm still trying to find the original owner, or the last owner in America, still no luck though..

Oh well, I'll probably write another update soon or what so ever, kbye!
