Talking Another Bay Area Miata Noob

Hello everyone! My name is matt and I just bought a white 1993 miata all stock minus some raceland coilovers. trying to get the thing to pass smog but it is idling around 1100 and wont pass. I have a lot of plans for this car, but I only work part time and I'm going to school so it will be a slow process.

I've done some looking around the forum and I can't wait to truly become a part of this community!

Welcome to the forums. I joined not too long ago because I picked up a Miata as well. What issues are you having because the high idle? You can turn the idle down with the idle screw next to the throttle body (clockwise I believe). Stock idle should be 850 +/- 50 rpms. You might also want to check your timing.

I just passed smog with my car with flying colors and it has 215k on it =)

Make sure your IAC isn't sticking before you go messing with the idle screw.
