Default Been Lurking for 3 Years...

Hello people of the forum! Like the title says, I've been lurking here off and on (more on than off) for a little over 3 years. I used to drive a lightly modified WRX, and test drove a number of other cars including a few corvettes before pulling the trigger on a 1994 Miata today. Mostly, I just wanted a canyon/autoX toy I can beat the **** out of, and not feel like I'm flushing too much money down the toilet.

Currently, I'm so busy that I probably won't be starting the build for a month or so. I'm debating between buying used hot side parts, or taking the opportunity to teach my self basic metal fabrication and using a TD04 from a WRX. It's more for the experience than saving money. Engine management will be via Megasquirt.

I like the color. Looks really clean. Dig around, with patience and lots of research you can piece together a nice setup for a fair price. Megasquirt is awesome, do that first and learn to tune it while NA so you can't blow **** up.

Now post pictures of cats.

I assume you've seen the DIY manifold thread. A couple of months ago I decided the same thing for the same reason. It's either time or money, and since I have both I may as well save the money.

Nice car. Now pop the hood and pull up lightly on both headlight covers. Close hood. Repeat until they match the hood. They are just pushed down from some careless PO or someone else.

That's the plan! I wanna get it running on larger injectors, and learn to tune first. I've only watched it done before.

Lots of good information there! I was thinking the same style manifold too. If I can do it without embarrassing myself, I'd like to make a few youtube vids out of it. However, I doubt my fab skills are up to your level.

Lol, it's actually the hood. The PO gently stuck is front end under the back side of a truck. The sun glare is hiding the nice scratch from what seems to have been a receiver sliding about 8 inches up the hood. As a result, the hood sits a little goofy. I have a body guy that can fix it, but I would rather buy better wheels and tires

Welcome. Love that color.

Do me a huge flavor and take those chrome strips off the door. prz.

Honesly I would start with something more simple like a t25 (can be had for like 100bux of maybe even free) Much more support for them, and easy to upgrade down the road. But if you wanna fab more powa to you.
