British in Japan driving a Eunos Roadster
Hi! I'm a British guy living in Yokohama. I drive a 1992 Eunos Roadster and spend most of my free time driving the touge (mountain roads), working on the car and more recently at Fuji Speedway. (Joining a Miata only group driving lesson this Sunday at FSW)
Weekend evenings I often meet up with some US military friends and see what's about at Daikoku PA and Tatsumi PA - there is one hell of a car scene here.
I have owned my car for 5 years but only really started modding it over the past two years. I've changed the seat, intake, header, cat, exhaust, brakes (to 1.8) clutch, flywheel, suspension and more all by using guides on forums like this. There is such a fantastic online community for the Miata I don't know what I would do without you all!!!
My goal is to add a turbo by summer 2014 but I want a good platform first. The next step towards this goal is Megasquirting. I have read a lot and have decided to follow Frank's Westfield MX5 guide. I have ordered all of the parts and plan to install the WO2 and possibly the VTPS on the stock ECU next weekend.
I decided to go for Frank's method over the MSPNP2 as I am also considering an engine swap to a BP-VE and I understand that the MS3X is capable of controlling VVT. His write-up looks fairly detailed too which is necessary for me since I've not worked on an ECU before and something I will learn a lot more from than sticking in a PnP.

Welcome to the forum! I'd love to see more pictures of the local car scene if you get a chance.
Also consider perhaps adding forged connecting rods and pistons if you are going to be swapping engines. It will give you more headroom for the future.

Thanks for all the replies!
My mods, in a bit more detail:
Seat: Recaro SP-G (a bit wide for the Miata but then so am I!)
Suspension : 10-8 Ohlins - fully adjustable with Swift springs
Sway bars: 14-23 from the turbo NB with Maruha end links
Intake: Racing Beat
Header: 5zigen
Cat: Magnaflow
Exhaust : Okuyama
Brakes: Rebuilt NA8s with slotted, cold/heat-treated rotors
Roll-bar: Cusco - 4 point
Harness: Willans - 4 point
Flywheel: 4.5kg
Clutch: Exedy Stage 1
Gear ****: Mazdaspeed ... I'll stop here
I lost the back end at the track and smashed up the passenger rear quarter. After hammering it back into shape and filling it I decided to cover it in Miata comic pages since paint would show up my terrible body work. I'll ul a before and after later. The lights were just a cheap $30 replacement but I quite like the style. The rear bumper was just $70 too.
The roll bar has standard black padding with a white wrap over so it is pretty thick. I'll be going back to the plane black soon.
This is a friend's page about Tatsumi PA, please have a look.https://m.facebook.com/TatsumiPA?slo...user=517275726
Sorry can't hyperlink from the phone!
Haha, yep I said touge! I also said JDM but since it was in context and I'm not selling Honda parts I thought it would be OK :-)
