Default Bs_nb1's Build

Just wanted to introduce my build since I am a noob to MiataTurbo,
I bought my 99 nb1 about 2 years ago from an older gentleman who could no longer drive the car because of his knee. When I bought the car it was stock other than a roll bar and a jvc radio. After i bought the car i started with some light modifications and planned on having a nice street car. That all changed when I went to my first track day at Grattan. Since then I have added an intake, header, exhaust, adjustable timing wheel, exhaust, coilovers, front splitter, hardtop, blackbird fabworx lean spoiler, rev limiter gauges, ultra shield seats, 6pt harnesses, momo montecarlo wheel, new tdr radiator, and a reroute. now you are up to speed and this is the current state of the car.

So now on to my big overhaul. since it it winter in Michigan and i no longer drive my car.

after tracking it for around a year and a half with the current setup, I've found out that i can keep up with just about anything in the corners but can't keep up with the faster cars out of the corners and in the straights.

so for the next season after doing tons of research i decided to run a turbo setup. I found myself a long block with rod knock and tore it apart everything looked pretty good. I will be doing a fully built bottom end and some light head work. I am going to run super tech pistons and manley rods. The head will include a msm intake cam and some upgraded valve springs to ensure i do not get float especially as i turn up the boost. For the turbo setup initially i am going to run a fm manifold with a 2560r (basically their custom spec turbo kit), Skunk2 manifold and tb. I will most likely run pump gas as e85 is not very available near me. the car will be on ms3 since i got a very good deal from a partout. My biggest concerns are keeping the car cool on the track and having enough grip for the power. I will be gutting the ac and ps to make more room for turbo stuff and keeping the car cooler. A track speed radiator will be ordered and i will duct the entire setup. Singular nc hood vents will be installed in an effort to keep everything cooler.

This is just part of my plans as i am still figuring things out.
Questions i have are:
Will 205 sm7 be enough to keep traction or should i move up to a 225 nt01 or rc-1?
Would a turbo blanket be helpful in keeping temps down?

This is my first built motor and turbo setup so everything is very new to me. If you have any inputs or words of wisdom please feel free to let me know.

What size of wheel are you running? That will determine the best fit for what size of tire to run. As a general recommendation, a 225 on a 15x9 would be the best way to go. However, Hoosiers run wide, so a 205 SM7 would fit just fine on a 15x9.

Turbo blankets are generally not recommended. If you want heat control, look into coatings.

Currently I'm running 15x8s, I'm looking into 15x9 so hearing that the hoosiers will fit is very nice.

I've heard some good and bad about turbo blankets. Would you recommend just having the manifold, turbo exhaust housing and downpipe ceramic coated?

Those three you mentioned are the big heat sources, so you got it.

Blankets kill CHRA seals. Not doing that again.
