Decided To Jump In...
Thought I should probably say hi.
About a month ago I picked up a 99 with about 160k on it. I got it for a steal, largely because its ugly. The front bumper is repainted/peeling/dented, as is the hood.
The good news, mechanically it seems solid!
So now the story begins I guess. Megasquirt is on the way, gonna get it running 100% stock, then slowly build up to the turbo. So far it has gotten new fluids, some small work here and there, and coolant lines.
Annnd today I got a steal on some wheels, so I couldn't pass those up.

Good approach. Pics?

Looks good! Are those 16" wheels? They look a little bigger than I'm used to. I've been having a hard time finding 6 spoke wheels that I like.
Also, What MS did you decide on? I've been having a hard time figuring out if I should just fork out for a Rev built MS or not.

Plus they were $200, WITH Hoosier A6s.. Hard to complain there.

I was planning to do a DIYPNP, but I snagged one on here last week for a hell of a deal (see the trend here?)
Rad, I'd burn the rubber off of those and then resell the wheels and get some 15s
.
Speaking from an autocross perspective unsprung and rotating weight are not your friends, but A6s are the ****
You'll have to let us know how the MS goes. I keep reading up, but I feel like I just need to get one in my hands and start playing with it.

Just to update this (probably should move into a build thread I guess....)
Got my DIYPNP megasquirt used here on the forum for a fantastic price. After some basic troubles I got it running, and today I got it idling!
Up next, continued tuning on the megasquirt until i'm happy-ish with how it runs.
En route, RX8 yellow injectors (scored them for $50)

Hell yeah man! I just picked up a used MS3 basic and I'm going through the same thing right now. The initial learning curve is brutal....
One think that might be worth mentioning if you haven't seen it - It's recommended (at least where I've read) to pull your MAP signal from a T off of the FPR reference line. All of the guides I found were a bit older, and had me using the unused port behind the TB. I gave it a shot today and my MAP readings seem a bit more stable.
