Flakes Introduction
Hello all,
I'm new to the miata scene and have owned my 97 na miata for about two years. It was a 2 owner (same family) California car, completely stock. It was garaged and kept up by an older gentleman who just had too many cars and boats to try and hold on to. I got it for a solid $3,000 - (the miata I had before that I found had major rust issues, so I made sure that the next miata I got would be as clean as possible.) I've had boosted cars in the past (SRT-4's) and I've gone through my "ricer" phase. I'm looking to build a reliable, fun weekend car that looks solid and clean.
Since I've bought my NA, I've done almost every supporting bolt on mod in order to get it ready for boost. Bracing, suspension, wheels and tires, brakes, cooling, gauges, minor cosmetic upgrades, exhaust, etc. etc. At the moment, it looks like every other nicely modded NA, nothing too special- as the parts I made sure to get were well known in the miata community and were very popular. I have a FM S1 Turbo kit sitting behind me ready for installation and I'm installing my happy meals clutch this Sunday. The LS2 coil packs (sequential wiring) and Flow Force injectors are on their way. I have to smog the car every two years- so I wanted a kit that was carb legal and the ability to just swap minimal parts in order to pass inspection, that that was the main reason I went this route. I'm excited to learn more about tuning and getting back into a car with boost. Thanks all for your time! Here are some quick photos.

I do plan on running the piggy back for a little while- but I know I want to get as much from the turbo as possible, so I bought a MS3Pro PNP and a set of Flow Force injectors.
I'll install the piggy back with some solid bullet connectors so when it comes time to smog, I just have to replace the injectors, ecu and the voodoo box.
I just installed the FM S2 Clutch yesterday. I'm pretty beat today, lol. I left the downpipe off so I wouldn't have to bother messing with it when I installed the turbo. I'm getting pretty excited. It's been a while since I've felt boost.

Nice build, props to you for doing all those supportive mods before installing the turbo. Not many people can wait that long! Good luck with CA smog, when I was at school in San Diego I was planning on doing close to what you are, in fact my build is still designed to become 'smoggable' if I ever have too. What will be a pain is you will have to let your ECU set in before it can be smogged which is a real pain.
Every time I see those golden S1's, I regret getting mine in black. They look so good. Make sure to post pictures of your turbo install.
