Default Hello

Hi Everyone. My name is Andy and I am a 22 year old car enthusiast. A little about me: I just graduated from a tech college with an AAS in automotive technology and currently work at the airport as a Jr. Ground Support Equipment Mechanic. I originally got into cars in highschool, after buying my first car, a Hundai Tiburon (dont hate). After immersing myself into that car and its community, I am now currently a moderator of the main forum site for that vehicle, Newtiburon.com and admin of a sister forum site called Hyundaimotorclub.com. That car has taught me a fair amount of what I know today (including my first turbo build, which was aborted at the last second due to my lack of knowledge at the time). Since then, I have moved on and am now a proud owner of a 1992 smurf that I like to call blueberry muffin. Im hoping that I will be able to immerse myself into this community as much as I have with my previous car. Anyways, Here she is:

Engine wise, she is pretty much stock, but there are a few add-ons worth noting, like some Tein Flex's, Harddog Sport M2 single diagnol, F1 racing stage 1 clutch and chromoly lightweight flywheel, ebay short throw and strut bar, and some no name wheels wrapped in some BFG Comp 2's.

My plan is to finish up the suspension with a sway bar, move to brakes with a Wilwood big brake kit, and then eventually get to engine stuff with forced induction highly in mind. I thought about doing a turbo on this car once before with an FMU setup, but after finding out the hard way that, that method is frowned upon, I plan on going the full standalone route using the megasquirt unit and getting a professional tune.

Anyways, I juast wanted to introduce myself. Please let me know if you have any suggestions for how I should go down the forced induction route. Thanks!

Welcome, get Megasquirt, learn tuning, boost.

I kinda like the blue with white wheels. They seem a bit huge though. 17's by chance?

Sorry you owned a Hyundai :P

Haha That would be cool, but I doubt he would be willing to put a brand new member with only 3 posts into a position of power. But maybe I can prove myself otherwise. We'll see as time goes on.

Already on it. I bought Corky Bell's Maximum Boost and Greg Banish's Electronic Fuel Injection study manuals and already started reading them. That along with the knowledge I aquired in school about fuel trims, loops, and stuff like that used for diagnosis, I feel like im already on a healthy course to learning what I need to learn. But still I plan on going for a professional tune if I do plan on to execute a build in the near future.

Thank you. Ive gotten mixed reviews, but I am quite content with them. They are 16 inchers.

And some hate, but I loved that car
