hey folks. just a guy with an NB here looking to rid the car of some gremlins, make it run smoooooooth, then boooooooost.

Hi Jeff. Welcome to the forum.

What kind of gremlins does your NB have? Is it stock? Give us some info so we have try to help.

Of course, the requisite forum answer is to go standalone....if you have the time and wisdom to tune the engine yourself.

yes... i like the answer already.

i posted about the gremlins. basically, the car was.... of questionable provenance (thrashed) before i got it, and now it has a rattle that sounds like a ping under light accel.

gonna boost it.

not gonna boost it till i fix that stupid rattle.

it runs fast for an N/A but it sounds like poo-poo while cruising or lightly accelerating, and passengers get tired of my constant earnest accel and decel.

check the exhaust heat shield in the trans tunnel beside the driver's seat.

Yeah, I checked all that, thanks. I'll double-check this weekend, but someone else listened to it and thought it sounded like a rod...
