Welcome to the forum.

What part of France? I have a friend from Lyon that lives in Atlanta, Georgia. His company has him working here for a few years.

It depends; there are still English-speaking neighbourhoods, as much as the government tries to outlaw it. I did nearly all my schooling in English, except for a couple of years in German, which is my second language (I'm of Swiss origin). I worked in aerospace for awhile, where documents were in English even when I dealt with Snecma in France.
