Default Hello from South Carolina

Good Afternoon Folks,

I just picked up my first Miata last week. It is a low mileage 1991. I have always been a car enthusiast and I have been through many different ones over the last 10-15 years or so. My last one being a 2011 CTSV that made almost 600 at the rear wheels on pump gas. Anyway, I sold my CTSV last year and got the itch for another toy. I decided on this car because it was inexpensive and I want to try my hand at adding a turbo to a NA car and I saw a video somewhere that said every car enthusiast should own at least one Miata in their life. I'm looking to build it my self, you know "Built and not Bought" Sorry for the cliche but there is great satisfaction for me to build things. I am a mechanical engineer by profession for a local manufacturing facility, mainly doing tooling, fixture design and CNC programming for new parts. I have almost 20 years of CNC experience so I get to make all kinds of stuff. I am also a computer programmer and electronics nerd, I got an electronics technology degree in 1991 and never used it professionally, so putting together an ECU sounds like fun and learning to tune an ECU seems like a worthy challenge also. I have been reading all I can about the MegaSquirts and during that research I came across trubokitty. I hope to someday chat with Lars as we aren't that far apart (geographically) and will I most likely start off with an MKTurbo kit. I wonder what the current lead time is on them? ---> I can see that there is a plethora of information to be disseminated here in these forums. <--- From my night school degree . Anyway, I have a few questions but I will direct them to the appropriate forums. Peace, you guys.

Welcome to the site.

I am about 1.5 hours south of you. Lead time on setups currently is you could pick up by Friday if you wanted. Otherwise it sort of varies based on my supplies and current work load.

Shoot me an email. I might have some CNC/Machining questions. I gladly trade parts for services and knowledge.
