Default Hey guys

Hey guys.

Maybe I will introduce myself. Name is Ryan.. just recently bought a '97 Miata. I've owned a '78 Datsun 280z for many years and have done plenty of work to the baby. I got a new set of wheels for the Datsun so I slapped on the old SportMax 002 wheels onto the Miata. They were stolen outside of the house and the car was dropped on the concrete. I just bought some Rota RKR wheels and I have TEIN basic coil overs coming in this saturday. I am going to post new pictures of the car hopefully this sunday with a proper ride height!

Right now I am restoring the Datsun.. I built a Rotisserie in the garage and this was about a year and a half ago. I am building in a full cage and some other mods right now

Here is the Miata when I just bought her

I am glad I signed up to this forum and I hope I can learn a lot from everyone here. The reason I talked to the moderators, was the topic drifted away from the Miata and automotive interest.

Anyway, I am excited to post new pictures after the coil overs are installed!

Ryan

Sick Z car. Who would take the effort to steal sportmaxx wheels though?! Jesus.

Clean miata too, welcome.

I like this site so much that even though I sold my Miata 4 years ago, it's still my main souce of all knowledge about every subject under the sun. There is no question in the universe that can't be answered from the crew here.

And just for very broad-stroke, non-specific, big-picture, over-generalization... lots of our topics here drift away from car stuff. But you have powered through initial hazing ritual, and are welcome to the site, looking forward to your contributions.

Hmm. Good point.

I agree with brain on de-chroming the z. Also that badge on your miata needs to go. It really looks out of place on the hood (fyi it came on the bumper oem).

Thanks for the kind words guys.

I ran those clear covers for a few years.. I hated them. dirt and water would fog up inside of the housings and it made the plastic really dirty and hazy. I removed them and it looks much better. I even tried silicone to seal the covers.. no luck. It came from behind the bulb.

I ran a L28ET.. a 2.8L inline 6 with a Holset HY35w turbocharger and Megasquirt. 300zx turbo transmission and tons of other goodies.

I am dechroming the Z.. it's gonna look reaaallly nice when I'm done.

Thanks for the heads up on the Badge! I bought the car that way and never noticed it! crazy!

Let me suggest you relax, find some humor, and probably get some thick skin.

The majority of people on here like function over form, and we like to do things cheap.

hahaha, Welcome to the forum.

my TEIN coil overs should be in this upcoming Thursday!

Flyin Miata has had the vmaxx coil overs on back order.. so I placed an order for the TEIN basics from 949 racing and those were on back order too!

Im stoked to finally get these in and see what a miata looks like with a proper ride height.

Pics to follow soon!
