Funny, it kind of depends on who you talk to.
We've got a couple of folks on here who seem to view their entire drivetrain as a consumable. Blew the transmission on the dyno? Grab another one and continue the session. Hole blown through the case? Good excuse to finally use those H-beam rods that I've had lying around. Differential exploded on the racetrack? Grab the one out of your buddy's daily driver and head back out.

It does seem that the transmission is more of a consumable than would be preferred, but I guess would be expected as it is a stock part when compared to the built engines and what not most people are running.
At least transmissions and differentials are relatively cheap and plentiful (I came from a BMW -- M Roadster, to be exact, where nothing was cheap or plentiful).

I could make the adapter plate, but I don't know if I want to go through the trouble with everything else
Probably just stick with squirreling up some 6 speeds
