Found a car that was more what I was originally looking for... so Spider has to go come spring.
New car that comes home once snow clears.

I need a story now, daddy.
I'm calling you daddy in hopes that I can inherit that car someday.

I've thankfully never been to Oregon... so I can't 'lay' claim to him.
It started with a conversation with my wife (said no 911 buyer ever) that wasn't at all serious. Talking about cars down on value, that hold value, that are fun (i'd like) and I even threw in kid friendly (YES it can fit car seats in the back without issue!). As we roamed through options I got a reaction from here i'd never seen before... she actually saw the Porsche and just said "now that is pretty! I'd try to learn manual again to drive it!". From that day (a month ago) I started the hunt.
After living on half dozen luxury/performance forums, ebay, searchtempest, CL, autotrader, etc... I found this one in Ohio. Ended up going down with a cashiers check after using the car buddy network to help vet him (and thus the car), I hadn't even talked to him on the phone at this point.
Came back with it on Sunday.
It is simply put.... AWESOME.

It's a 1982 Fiat X1/9 built by the previous owner on the cheap for autox beating. Its a ball to drive and if it doesn't try to rust apart I think it'll be around me for awhile.
