Default Hi From down under

Hi Miata turbo forum users,
Been a member here for a little while, not posted yet. (Enjoying the search function).

Back ground, did a little track work in an 80 S1 Rx7 back in the early 90s in New Zealand. (Yes I'm a Kiwi) now living in Brisbane Oz. I loved that car.

Skip forward a couple of years 10-15 or so.

Walked away from playing golf a year ago. Found I had a lot more spare time and cash. So what better to do that start shovelling money down a hole than motor sport.

I was on the lookout for an early Rx7 to start with, but the cost and the condition of the vehicles was not viable option.
So I started to look at building my own locost for club racing and hill climbing etc. I started to look around for a MX5 for donor parts, took one for a drive and was really impressed with the handling. Basically skipped the locost and started to use the MX5 as is.

My MX5 specs.

1597cc motor has been rebuilt by myself and started first time beginners luck. (Pretty much stock other)
Specs;
Shaved head.
3 angle grind on valves.
Port matched.
Complete balance of all engine parts.
Lt Flywheel.
K-sport pro coilovers
Green stuff pads and slotted rotors
Semi slick 205/50/15"
CAM roll over bar.
Race sparco seat and harness.
Racing beat induction kit.
4.1 apexi headers.
De cat pipe.
1800 T1 diff with KIA 4.87 ring and pinion (Best mod) so far.

So far I've been really happy with the car. But like most people looking for a little bit more power. Maybe the boost type.

Cheers all really been enjoying the info. Topper
