Thumbs up Hi,From France

Hello everyone!
I'm Max i've 19 years old, i live in France.
I will now work on my brother's car is a 200sx S13 CA18DET which has 300hp.
Equipped with a T28 who come from SR20DET, an intercooler, Blitz BOV, Ebay intake etc.

I registered here to learn all about the passage of the turbo MX-5!
I do not know what model to choose (for the MX-5)
NB 1.8L
or
1.6L NB
I'm trying to gather as much information on the Greddy kit and those in BEGI.
I'm open to any information.

Welcome aboard.

If I'm not mistaken; you're the first French guy on this board.

Read the FAQs. Lots of good info there.

The Begi kit may end up being your best option.

Is it a CA18DET or an SR20DET? I didn't think the CA18 had much potential (Although this is coming from a guy with a 1.6 miata)

Salut!

Salut!
The CA18 is an awesome motor. Lots of people refer to it as the 4 cyl RB.

Oh, and welcome to the forum TimeAttack. I'm sure you'll enjoy your stay .

BEGi is very good quality. The 2560 will work very well with the 1.6l engine.

Welcome.

J'aimerais acheter une trousse de turbo. Hahaha!

When is it on the 1.8L ?

What is the best choice?
Version 1.8L or 1.6L version?

J'espère que sur le 1.8L il fonctionne aussi bien

They are both good choices, but the larger engine will take a little more fuel and air because of the larger displacement.

The two engine sizes use different intake and exhaust manifolds. A turbo manifold for a 1.6 will not fit the 1.8. The 1.8 engine is slightly longer and the space between cylinders is different. Both will make twice the original horsepower with no internal modifications if you tune them properly. Les deux moteurs sont robuste. Les gens construisent d'ordinaire qu'ils ont. Désolé. Ma traduction est mauvaise.

300 hp on a CA18det with the s14 t28? I find that hard to believe. I made around 250 with that turbo on my sr20. Either way, welcome to the forum. As everyone mentioned, you can easily double the miata's hp (1.6 or 1.8) with a turbo. In fact, your brothers turbo would be a great choice. Look into the FAQ's here and you will find everything you need.
