Default Hi, greatings from Poland. My NA want to be SC.

I'm Robert and I'm still student. I have this car from two years. I bought it as 1.6 90HP and want to keep it stock but after some time I change my mind and decided to swap for 1.8 and mount SC.

Photo from one of polish society meetings (my is first from left):

Swap:

Small photo on old rims. Ican't wait for spring to take the car off from garage.

1.8 swap = Winning.

SC = fail.

Oh well nobody's perfect, welcome to the site.

No no, your NA told you it wants a turbo, not an SC.

It's to late. I like low-end torque. Just over +50HP would satisfy me.

Why do you think SC is fail? M62 should be good for my purposes.

Welcome to the site. There is going to be a lot of "internet slang" in the English used here and many of the site users are very surly. Try not to get offended too easily.

Also, the site is called MiataTurbo.net. The answer is always turbo.

Except for road-racing. They have mostly given up on them there.

Superchargers, especially on miatas, are just horribly inefficient. Why is it too late? Is it already bolted on? Intercooled? What are you running for fuel/spark management?

I'm guessing you have a 1.6 since you are in Poland, so you should check out Curly's car. Full boost by 4k RPM. If you need much more low-end torque than that, you are probably in the wrong gear.

But yeah, Y8s doesn't have a Miata, Hustler doesn't have a turbo, and everyone but me also owns a Subaru. It's about time they change the name of the site.

Maybe I'm too stubborn for SC, maybe I'm on the not exactly correct forum, but I bought SC in greate price and I could make all fixings my self. Its would be 2 or 3 times chaper than turbo with manifold (i'm talking just about charger with fittings and turbine with exhaust manifolold). If it wouldn't satisfy my wants maybe I will change it for turbo.

I'm going intercooled (I thinking about 28" x 7" x2.5"). Cops are already mounted:

Old pic, today I have harness made.

To manage fuel and spark I decided to use MSII. It's imported now to me with help of one of members (Thanks again for this).

Ah, if you got a good deal I can understand.

28" seems a bit long for in intercooler. Search around, I don't think they are any more efficient after 18" (either that or my memory is bad).

Im thinking about polishing mine. Any tips? Can you give a brief breakdown on what grit papers you used and so forth?

Any tips?
Yes, paint it. But if you would decide to sacriface few dozen hours to polish it you must truly want it.
At the begginig I used battery drill with sandpaper disc to grit easy accesable surfaces.
I started from 120, 240 , 360 and wet 600 , 800, 1200 to 1600.
A lot of hard hand work.

To polish it I used two kind of felt, one for disc and another one cone shaped, like this [URL="http://www.bizrice.com/upload/20120315/Felt_dental_cleaning_tools.jpg"] It has around 2" diameter.
Half-liquide paste for hand polishing worked better than solid. Betwean cams is alloy flat to which cops are screwed. It's almost impossible to polish socket.

Thanks.

Yeah basically everyone I ask says it takes extreme effort and lots of time. I'm going to give it a shot, if I fail I'll just powdercoat it

I plan on bead blasting and anodizing my spare this summer. A lot less work than polishing but nearly as shiny.

Anyone bead blasting a valve cover please take note: PULL OFF THE BAFFLES and clean out every little crevice when you are done.

Seen some nice motors die when just a little grit gets in there.

Oh, you got that right. Back when I did sandblasting for my dad, I'd get sand particles everywhere.

Welcome! SC is a good gateway drug. You will have a turbo setup before long.
