This.

I personally am sick of people showing up here contaminating this forum with drift crap and stretched tire lameness. I came here a long time ago with a beat setup full of band aids. I asked questions that got answered and I took advice. Now I have a kick *** setup with a megasquirt.
These new dorifto hella flush clowns don't take good advice, this is why I find bashing acceptable. If they wanna stay here and have successful, tasteful cars, that's great. If they choose to not take our advice and drive fugly, rigged up cars; then CR can have them. They don't belong here.

and the blacks and jews!

seriously though, give them a few posts to wise up and figure it out before you cram your ***** in their mouth. If they are rude and continue to be the willful ignorant, and rational handling of the situation is fruitless, by all means, release the hounds.

And yes, nugent, if they crap up the non noob sections with stupid bullshit, **** with them until they tear up. maybe give them a single post warning "this is not the noob section and you will be eaten alive" or something.

I have noticed how the viewership on this site seems to continue to decline. It seems all the people with real talent are leaving or posting less often, and that there is more and more of this kind of hate and criticizing committed by the same people over and over again. Eventually the only people left on this site will be those that try to out ******* each other.

Agreed.

And zero people does a dead forum make.

Absolutely. Somebody posts douchebaggery in the main sections, have at 'em. Try to be tactful and sly about it (eg: don't be 18PSI), but the regular rules (or lack thereof) still apply.

Just respect the sanctity of the News forum. It's here for the SPECIFIC purpose of giving newbs a place to post their **** that doesn't contaminate the main forum, and to give 'em a chance to learn the ropes. Not everybody was born awesome.

Like I said- troll away if someone asks which suspension package under $100 is best in the regular suspension forum.

But this here is the petting zoo, not the Savannah.

No, there will not be. Because I will permaban the living **** out of those folks before I let that happen.

Is that really necessary? How is that going to make this site better? I am not a Moderator, and doing so would be out of line.

*edit: actually he still emails me every now and then in response to a post or thread. Very helpful and coherent emails too. I think he's a pretty smart guy when he's not plastered drunk.

Maybe because I was angry, and am tired of seeing people with talent getting run off.

If you go visit the other sites, they show record breaking views very recently as well. It is the number of registered and logged in members that has obviously declined.

People need to remember that not everyone has tons of forum experience, and a little patience and guidance will go a long way to creating good productive members that contribute to the site.

Also, drifters, drag racers, road racers, autocross, rally, etc. all have something in common. They are car crafters that further develop the car we come here to talk about. You may not be into what they are doing, but the ones with talent all contribute to the greater good.

I usually do the best work on my cars when i'm hammered. True story.

When i'm hammered, i'm too scared to use the sawzall or cutoff wheel, so half-assing stuff isn't the easy option.

I do think that the talent pool got a bit split up when the V8 guys got their own forum. I miss having ZX-TX around here.

I've been around here since the days of WhiteRoadster when the "hot" setup was an Emanage Blue running a Greddy kit with JimB pipes (if you don't know who JimB is, you're not old-skool)... so being a military aviator and a forum veteran, I'm fully qualified to weigh in here.

That car is pretty cool. I sit across the office from a Marine Captain (Harrier pilot) who said... "kinda cool, but Miata's are still gay"... which was some seriously high ******* praise.

I used to be a pretty big offender of noobs (reference the 2 STICKY's in the Meet&Greet forum), but only after they'd shown their asses and proven they'd be no use to the community... not before. Perhaps I've grown up a bit or whatever, but in my advanced years (37), it takes a lot for me to get into an internet pissing match about what a car should look like.

This place will always be the best overall Miata forum specifically due to it's intolerance of standard forum bullshittery that plagues the rest of the interwebs. Our "special" members make the forum what it is, and the learning curves for noobs can be steep... but everybody eventually grows up, and life priorities tend to change. I still hammer the occasional noob now and then, but for some reason, I just don't get as big a boner about it as I used to. Maybe the wife will let me have another one someday (big boner) and I'll be back in full stride, dropping from the top-rope like when I was young back in '08.

Peace be with you bitches.

I'm still trying to figure out how one of the most civil hazing/flaming threads we've ever had in the history of mt.net is getting so much attention.

I rated y8s's reply as one of his best ever.

I love the fact that we can, in a totally serious manner, rank the severity of our various hazing/flaming threads and comment on their merit.

This forum > everything else.
