Just want to say hi and introduce my build; I’ve had 5 Miatas, 2 Turbo NAs and have lurked here under another name since about 2014
This car is a 94 C package black/tan with 34k miles on it, I’ve had it since 25k and was turboed with a tiny T25 Garrett journal off a CA18DET that maxed out at 202/200 on a land sea and air dyno (more of a heartbreaker than a mustang)
drove for about 2 summers here and this year in august had a bad transmission weep so pulled it thinking it was RMS and it turned out to be the actual pan seal leaking — so started down the rabbit hole of a built motor with initial goals of ‘only’ 300wheel
Went Manley rods and JE pistons, acl bearings and ARP everything, boundary, ATI, bottom end assembled and balanced at a well known local engine shop
then a BP4W fell into my lap for basically free, so had that refreshed with a mild port job and Volvo springs
which got me thinking about transmissions, so grabbed a 6 speed too and my power goals inflated to 350wheel
Got everything timed and mostly assembled, currently waiting for:
- BW 6758 which I ordered from TCS and is on its way (😍
- Kraken manifold and full 3” exhaust, ordered/paid waiting for Jan delivery
- Skunk2 intake (from wife for Christmas)
- DW1000 injectors (again, wife Christmas... she’s cool)
left to get/figure out:
- coolant reroute
- fuel rail, regulator, and flex sensor
- MS3
- Clutch
Not too far! I grew up in Pembroke just outside of Batavia. We have a pretty big group of us in Rochester, probably 10 or so people pretty active... KSwap going EFR this winter shooting for 400wheel, a 300wheel built BP, a couple other stock block turbo guys, a rotrex 1.6, and a bunch of NA guys - we do a lot of parts swapping and information help over messenger, if you are interested PM me and Id be happy to add you. Check out Napp motorsports on youtube, they're a newer channel but are good friends of mine and are local and have really high production quality focused mostly on miata stuff
