Shalom from Pennsyltucky
Hey guys new to the forum but not Miatas, or Mazdas at all for that matter. My first Miata was a Mariner Blue NA that the previous owner used as a 4 wheeler in between his trips to the klink. I fixed her up, new wheels, new paint, new top. It was stock other than that. I drove it for a while and sold it. I also have 3 RX7s: 85 FB with some tasteful mods and rare parts; 87 Turbo FC that is my drift car. Streetport, S6 PFC, BNR turbo, v-mount, roll cage, 2-way, coilovers, all that fun stuff; 94 Single turbo FD. Super high quality build with overkill supporting mods, ready for a more aggressive tune for over 600hp with more boost and some internal dickering.
Enough about that. I'm here because I just inherited another NA and want to build a second drift car on a "budget". Obviously I've never done a turbo build on a Miata so I've been doing research in my spare time but still have a bunch of questions. Id really like to keep the entire project under $3k and I want a bare minimum of 200 horsepowers at the rear wheels, more is gooder.
If anyone wants to help a fella out I need some good, used, cheap parts.
5spd swap. (The whole turkey works. This turd is automatic)
Turbo setup
Injectors
Intercooler and piping
Some form of engine management (open to suggestion)
Coilovers
Modded knuckles
Hydro e-brake setup
Rear calipers
I'm sure the list will grow and change but that's just off the top of my head

Yeah it pretty much is. There's a small cell of people with an IQ over 110 but the majority like to pretend they're "country". You know; cowboy boots, John Deere trucker cap, flannel shirt, diesel pickup, southern drawl even though they never left the county their whole life. The car enthusiasts are pretty intolerant of anything that isn't 'Murican with a V8 in it.
If anything, its good entertainment.

Yea, I know what you mean. Sometimes we get some of them wander up into "the big city" and show their country side. There was a huge fuss here a few years ago at the National Farm Machinery Show that has been in Louisville forever, when the titty bars couldn't sell alcohol if the girls were completely naked. Man, the rednecks came unglued because that was the only reason most of them came to the show. They had to live with g-strings and pasties on the girls.

Welcome to the forum.
Miatas make terrible drift cars because of their low polar moment of inertia. You'll be fighting that the whole time. It is one of the things that make them great race cars. The RX7 is a far better choice.
