Does anyone know if 18psi is ordering a trick TSE setup that he'll be parting out shortly? |
Okay so obviously Megasquirt is seemingly the way to go these days, are most of the bugs worked out with them now? I think the first MSPNP's were just coming out when I was last looking. Is there a good database of base maps available now to keep the fiddling to a minimum?
My last Miata was running a Begi RRFPR, Emanage Blue, and an autotune unit from Olderguy. |
You want a MS3, not anything older, as none of the rest can control VVT. All 3 makers that we buy from will give you a good base map to start from. I am biased to ones from Braineack, but thats because he is my bff.

the bugs are never worked out.
but to compare the modern ms3 to the sticks and stones you all used back in the stone age, its approx. 10000x better |

The one issue is that you cannot wire open the wastegate. Since the EFR has a new IWG design that allows the flapper to hit the turbine wheel. So if you are running the TSE setup you will have to swap back to the stock exhaust.

I'm not sure that's entirely true. It seems to me you should be able to remove the wastegate can and use a piece of allthread with a lot of lock nuts to fix the gate open as wide as possible safely. Might need a little bracket at the wastegate can plate, but might just need fender washers, too...

Technically you might be correct, after seeing one guy ruin his compressor wheel, I won't be the one to try to ever test it. Not worth $1200 to me to find out.
and I really don't see those turbos making any boost with the wg rod loosened all the way out and in part throttle below 3k rpm |

Update: I bought a used FM2 kit from greddygalant a couple months ago. Hoping to get it back on the road this weekend!:skid:
