I don't have a miata and I hate cats. So why am I here?

Over the past year (since February) my friend and I have been building a custom one-off space frame car -- think exocet or ariel atom, but different -- with all the running gear from a 1993 miata. I have goals of putting a turbo on it soon, and since it still has the stock miata wiring harness and all, I will have to get mostly miata specific turbo parts, I think. Current goals are about 200-220 whp with a broad torque curve. The torque is definitely more important than horsepower to me.

About me: I am a motorsports/ mechanical engineering student at Purdue (IUPUI). I enjoy designing cars obviously, but I also enjoy hockey (Red Wings fans anywhere??), cycling, running, wakeboarding, drumming, guitar, etc. I am quite sarcastic, but I'm gathering that that won't be a problem here.

P.S. Sorry about the whole "hatin' cats thing," but I do. I think we'll still get along.

 

Terrible quality, but this will give you an idea on what it looks like. No brakes in this test drive (just hand brake), so only 10 mph. About 70-75% completed so far. Finish time is projected for spring.

Oh, and the car has been dubbed, "The Photon" and the name has stuck.

I think hating cats is a violation of MT policy... you may be fined for your violation.... or violated for your fine... could go either way.
Cool project though! a turbo would be nuts on that thing

Ah, you were right. I have been issued a violation. The real reason I dislike cats is because I'm allergic to them. I'll try to play nice...
