Thumbs up I have been Summoned

How is everyone doing! My name is Dween I drive nb2 and i have come across a kraken manifold recently. long story short I have been daily driving with a hand full of drift track days ( Midpond, Driven Luck Circuit, Lanier Raceplex, Mexico streets) and its time to turbo

Engine is good, my driving skills are naoki level, waiting for my square top gasket to come in so intake and injectors will be upgraded slightly, kraken t25 manifold with downpipe+ ISR catback circuit exhaust with muffler. I am in no rush for this build as these are just things that faith has brought me i do have access to a 3d printer incase i need mockups or special tools

My Goal is to maintain daily status and be able to drive to the track, thrash on my car on the track and back home which will hopefully consist of the following // T28 disco potato, kompact turbosmart BOV, FM silicone inter cooler piping, vibrant performance or FM intercooler, 6speed m/t ,, koyorad or eBay 2/3 row radiator, and i guess keep my A/C and P/S systems all whist pushing .5-.8 Bar

Here is what I do know. I am special, working as euro line tech so I can probably figure out stupid diagnosis situations and help out others with at least an opinion or my pov, I am still missing lots of bits and pieces, megasquirt pnp is hated on still i think?? my car is ugly yes i know

A couple things I don't know but i really am interested in would be CAD, self-Tuning, being social lol

just a real to make interweb friends that i can drive with in the near future!! Ichiban! if you made it this far thank you for your time have an amazing day or night!

Ill upload some horrendous pics of my car. track inchident
Midpond is amazing cant wait for track expansion

Why spend $$ on a new front end when i can use that same money to turbo my car!!

Tuning and CAD on a Miata? Dual duty car with AC and PS? T28? Just buy my car

IMO if you can get a GTX over the old GT you'll be doing yourself a favor. Megasquirt will certainly run the car (it also depends on which model you get), but it's old and I doubt you're getting many new features anytime soon.

Welcome!

I'll look into the GTX! If I can find one on marketplace for the right price that would be nice. I see a lot of megasquirts on market place, is there anything to look out for other than the condition of the ecu?

Just figure out your requirements and do your research on the different models. Preferably find one that wiring that isn't all hacked up.

MS3 is better than MS2 is better than MS1. With A/C you will need MS3 to idle correctly.

That being said, if you are on cast rods and pistons and are poor, consider contacting Lars at MKTurbo. His forum handle is Shuiend on here. He should be in the vendor section. He will get you going with everything you need for cheaper than every other option.

If you don't have another vehicle, you are going to have a bad day with the megasquirt installation. Then you will have a bad day with the clutch upgrade. Then you will have a bad day with the turbo installation. There's always a broken bolt or part you need to order or something. And then there's track carnage.

Our engines have weak rods and they don't respond well to overrevving or boost. Install lower compression forged pistons while you are in there.

I can vouch for the bad days with MS, clutch, and turbo install. I started my install of all the above half way through March, and I am just now seeing the light at the end of the tunnel. If it isn't that you broke a part/hardware, it is that you are missing a part/hardware, or doing an upgrade since "you're already in there". Definitely have a back up vehicle while you work on your Miata. The reason I got my Miata was due to a turbo install on my BMW (though the turbo install for the BMW only took around a week or two).
