Default Hi, Newb from Ma

Hi my name is Rob, I'm the owner of a 94 Brilliant Black Miata. My brother got the car 3 years ago in hope of making it an Autox monster, because he didn't want to abuse his brand new evo 9. Over the years I helped him to work on it, but he got fired and his hobby was layed to rest in the garage and was rarely never touched. Then i got my license 6 months ago( yeah i know I'm young,17, but i drive responsibly), and love the car to death. The tight steering and the looks i get in it are the best. Only mods done to the car is a Hard Dog Ace Roll bar, KYB AGX shocks, Falken Azenis, and i just picked up a hardtop today for 600$. Well now me and my brother and getting back into the project. What me and my brother think is that this car is underpowered, i mean its still fun, but thinking a turbo might give a little more umph. What my brother was thinking was making a custom turbo kit using a MSM Turbo and getting all the other parts seperately. Can it be done? Is it worth it? I'm really interested in making a homemade turbo kit and have been going through those DIY Threads but im still confused.

Thanks
Rob

Welcome.
All your questions can be answered with a quick 5 minute use of the search function. In short: yes you can use an msm turbo setup. Its only worth it if you get a smoking deal on the parts, since the turbo and the rest of the components are small/limited. The better way would be to put together a kit using our site vendors or classifieds, or buy an entry level kit from Begi or FM to start off with. The useful saved threads and search functions will help you with basically EVERYTHING.

Good luck
