Default Introductory post

Hey all,
I've been lurking around here for quite a while, but thought I'd finally make myself known. I bought a 90 turbo Miata back in July and have been busy catching up on maintenance and repairs, with a few upgrades thrown in along the way. My Miata was originally owned and built by Ken Hill while he worked at Flyin Miata - FMII with a T28, FM springs and sway bars, 1.8 brakes and diff, etc, - all high quality work done by Ken himself. ( http://www.flyinmiata.com/projects/ken.asp - link to car on FM's website from years ago)

The car has been through several owners since Ken, and unfortunately was not maintained and taken care of nearly as well as it deserved to be. I bought it in Denver and promptly drove it to Flyin' Miata the next day where it got some new plug wires, an intercooler pipe coupler, and a little TLC to the Link ECU from Brandon, making it run far better for the remainder of the drive home to Phoenix.

Driving over Loveland Pass the day I bought it:

Shortly after that I tore it apart to upgrade the intercooler and downpipe to the newer FMII designs, replace the damaged oil cooler, and generally get caught up with some of the maintenance it needed.

Engine bay after getting everything back together:

Parked on the street after test driving it:

Current interior:

Currently it's got seriously worn out AGXs, and is running a more-or-less default FM program - both of which are at the top of my lengthy to-do list. I'm in the process of getting a SerialLink adapter, and a WBO2 will be added, then the tuning will begin - Ken Hill has graciously offered to help me tune it when I'm ready, I just need to start sending him some datalogs.

Although this is my first turbo'd car, I've got plenty of automotive experience. I worked at a Nissan dealership for 10 years in virtually every department other than sales (bodyshop, service, internal), and have owned and worked on my fair share of fun cars (73 240z, 73 Opel GT, 85 MR2, 86 IROC-Z, 85 Supra, 93 240sx). My Miata easily tops them all in performance and pure driving enjoyment.

I autocrossed both my Supra and 240sx and will likely end up doing some autocrossing with my Miata once I get the suspension back into decent shape - haven't decided yet whether to install Illuminas with my existing FM springs or to go with V-Maxx coilovers for the corner-weighting adjustability they'd provide. The car is my DD so having a somewhat comfortable ride will have to factor into the decision.

I've found tons of useful knowledge here so far, and look forward to learning much more and being a useful contributor to the forum.
