Thumbs up Just became a proud NA owner

So personally I know nothing about miatas. I've always owned vw's. Still own an 03 jetta but I just recently sold my 97 jetta for a Miata after seeing a few amazing NA's at h2oi in Maryland. Anyways I'm looking to maybe turbo my car over the winter and def dump alot of money into aesthetics (wheels coils etc) I bought a 1995 black on black w only 78k. Lost all interest in my vw's after buying it lol. Also there's not any in my area (northern RI) so I just needed a change from the normal. Any info will help caus I'm totally in the dark

Welcome. Your gonna want to add your location and stuff about your car in your signature, like generation, engine & major modifications. XIDA coilovers are a favorite around here, although they are pricey. Since your planning to go turbo this winter, you'll want to read through all the stickies in the turbo sections and probably grab a megasquirt so you can get that sorted out before messing with a turbo. Also, you'll want to avoid terms like "herraflush", "stance", or "drifting" as they cause bouts of black out rage in some of our members. Good luck.

It's a ecu that can act as a "standalone" unit or a "piggyback". If it's being used as a piggyback then you use and your original ecu, the original will still control some things but the megasquirt would control stuff like how much fuel goes to the engine (I believe). If it's a standalone then it does everything a normal ecu can do, plus you can tune it to allow for the addition of forced induction and other cool stuff. See the "stickies" in the turbo sections for better info.

It's stupidly easy to install.

The Miata is such a well-designed car!! Much better than a VW. A tip, do plenty of research before you plunk down cash. Lots of good advice around here. Also, we're a function over form crowd. We don't mind "aesthetics," as long as it improves the car. For example, if you pollute your ride with 30# 17" wheels, we will come visit you while you sleep. It will be for your own good.
