Hey everyone! Been using this forum as a resource and guide for my car since I got it back in 2018. Now that I'm finally putting it under the knife I figured it was time I properly joined so I can beg for help please ask for advice when I hit issues. I'm in North Florida, so not a crazy amount of fun roads up here, but we make do. Car used to get a lot of autocross time, trying to get it ready to get back on track this next year.
A little about my car:
Bought a mostly stock 1999 5 speed torsen car about six years ago, when I acquired it the previous owner had installed FM Vmaxx coils and a Hard Dog roll bar. I've left it pretty much exactly that way until recently, just fed it brakes, tires, oil, and seat time. Back in 2022 I spun a bearing, and pulled the engine. It sat for a while until I slapped some new bearings in it and did a timing belt. I decided now that I've got some disposable income to finally make good on my plans of boosting the car, and I'm going with a mostly DIY Eaton MP62 setup. Piecing together the parts for that, so far I've done a coil-on-plug conversion using motorcycle coils, new shifter, and just installed a new-to-me MS2PNP. Going to be making a post asking for tuning help here shortly, I'm getting the hang of it but could definitely use some advice. Plan is to get it running well and as close to stock as possible on the Megasquirt before I add boost; take it one step at a time so I figure out what I'm doing. Got some fun 949 Supermiata parts to install when my buddy's lift is free next, as well.
Car got wrapped last year, the OEM clear coat was destroyed by the FL sun, and a friend of mine had some extra vinyl from an old job he did. So now it's Tiffany blue which has taken some getting used to. At least its all the same color now.
