Default Long time lurker just saying hello

Hi everybody I am a 21 year old college student and I just picked up my first miata, it is a white 2001 with 48k miles on it and is completely stock. I have been lurking here for a while and figured I would post an intro thread to get started on here.
my first car was a jeep back in high school which is what first got me into cars, I used the jeep mainly to help me understand suspensions and basic car knowledge. I didn't know much about cars nor did I care about cars till my junior year of high school when I took an advanced engineering class, where we used auto cad, solid works, and 3ds max to virtually build and test a motor of our choice. This is when the bug hit and I could not get enough. Since then I have done a lot of research and have build, what I consider, a substantial knowledge base for cars. I am fairly new to miatas but have always wanted to do track events. I am planning on doing my first autocross with one of the local clubs around here in march. After that I can actually see what i need to spend money on modifying rather than going in blind. but the general plan at the moment is stop it, drop it, and then boost it. Thanks for reading my intro for those who did and if any of you are in the mid Atlantic and need an extra set of hands im always ready to help, I figure the best way to get a better understanding of these cars is hands on. thanks.

Hey! I'm new too, you might want to delete one of your duplicate posts to keep the some of the older members off your back! Anyways what are you planning on doing exactly? Small mods like intake, short shifter, seat covers (just kidding;p) or big mods like turbo and suspension?

thanks for letting me know about the double post. Could you tell me how to delete the last thread. As for putting money into the car, I want to get it out on the track first and get a feel for what needs to be done. Realisticly it probably going to be brakes firsts, pads and rotors. Then most probably vmaxx coilovers. Later down the line if i can save the money to do it properly i would like to boost it, But I need to get a better base of knowledge before i get into that. What about you?

I'm not sure man, I don't see any delete/report buttons. Try PMing a mod and see if they can't get that off for you. Here's my thread https://www.miataturbo.net/meet-greet-40/new-guy-77042/. It shows what I want to do to my '94. There's just a lot of stuff written out and feel lazy atm ;P.

one does not just come here saying high. One creates a new account to tell us that we are all stupid and been doing it wrong for over 20 years now.
