Hello MT.net, my name is Dustin, and I am a bit of a Miata nut. I am from Sioux Falls SD and currently hove 4 Miata's in various states of disrepair. I have a very low mile NB PEP car, my wife and I have been autocrossing and open road racing this car for several years and the mods have been kept very low key.

This is my wife and our NB hard at work.

I also have a 91 that was basically pulled out of a field and dragged home. There were various ideas run through for that car until I found a rusty 90 with a lot of good parts. The Smurf had enough rust on it that I think it was stored in a lake bottom for some time, so I didn't feel too bad about crushing that. I picked up the PRTSCAR as its being called, for $150 bucks. The current plan for this car is a bit up in the air, I have removed some weight from the car, the soft top and the HVAC equipment and I have a 99 motor and a Torsen LSD in another car that I have that does not get driven much. More on that car shortly.

The PRTSCAR.

My wife has been on a tear looking for a second hard top and an older NA. She was able to find 4 or 5 cars that interested her and the one she settled on was a 91 BRG with a matching hard top. There was 200k on the clock and the usual early 90's Miata paint peel. The car threw a rod on the test drive, so we got the hard top for a fair market value and got the car thrown in for free.

The BRG

Our 4th Miata belonged to a friend of mine that passed away 3 years ago. The car has been stripped down and caged with the idea of using it as a Chump Car or a LeMon's car. It never quite got to that point and he ended up putting a 99 engine, a Torsen LSD, Koni/Ground Control set up an sticky tires on it. He took the bumpers, fenders and doors off and autocrossed it that way, calling it the Bare Naked Miata. We have not been able to get the car out as often as we would like, and my friend being the guy that he was, would have changed his mind 20 times since he passed away. We will hold on to the shell and maybe Chump Car it in the future, but for now I think we will be taking parts off of it and using them on one of the streetable cars.

Bare Naked on the left with some of the modified parts she has.

I have had several cars over the years, one of my favorites was the 73 Mazda RX2, when it ran correctly, which was not often. I also had a black 99 NB, which is where this screen name came from. I am currently waiting to see what happens with a 95 Montego Blue car that was wrecked recently in my home town. If I get that I'll take the motor and trans and put them in the BRG, the goodies out of the race car into the PRTSCAR and get that painted.

My garage has become the home for wayward Miata's in my part of the world, and I am happy to give them a home.

Tl/DR

I have lots of cars, and lots of work to do.
