Default Miata-less

hey, thought i'd introduce myself. i did one search but couldnt find anywhere to post an introduction. is this section ok?

anyway, i dont have a miata but ive been looking for one since i sold my last car (e36 325is-don't hate). problem is i bought an sv650 in the meantime (anyone want it?), so money is lower than i thought, but still plenty for an NA.

right now i'm looking at a 95 with 57k on it for 4500, opinions? a little more than i wanted to spend as it's stock, but that milage is nice. oh yeah it has a hardtop. 94/95 are the only options

About the car, that's low miles, but that's still about a grand too high.

Go into the "User CP" section and add your location under your screen name like everybody else, and someone local to you might be able to point out a deal on a good car.

As long as it also has a clean title and no rocker panel rust, I'd say $4500 for an NA with a hardtop and 57k is a reasonable price.

If you can haggle the seller down to $4200 or less it'll be a great deal, IMO.

I missed the hardtop part. There's the extra grand. It's good.

I'm truly a turbo newb, so I'd appreciate any help completing my shopping list. Here's what I can think of now:

-injectors (thinking rx7 460)

-feed and drain lines (oil and water)

-this circled stuff... what is this connecting pipe called where I can put my IAT and BOV? good place to buy one?

-various hotside pipes

-hardware for turbo

-downpipe materials... should i go bellmouth or try sg? My first downpipe attempt

The part you have circled for the IC stuff can be found on FM's site. I have the silicone FM IC pipes as well and I'm using their throttle body connector pipe for my IAT. Basically whats pictured is what I'm running, only with a CXracing IC rather than theirs.

As far as the downpipe question, 9 chances out of 10 you will be recommended by most to go with a SGDP.

Also, I'm using 460cc RX7 injectors myself, but thats only cause I found a set for a good deal and just got them. Lots of guys now are going bigger. I guess it depends on your goals really, but 460cc, 550cc injectors should be plenty.

suggestions on hardware for me? 10x1.5 mani to turbo, standard 8.1.25 outlet. Another question: how far would you drive on basically no downpipe? I need to install the turbo then go about 10 miles to the exhaust shop to have the dp made... I have an elbow from an SR to bolt up, but it's only about 6" long, will I be ok? I've thought about clamping a flexible exhaust piece on there too.

Also, how do i know/control wether or not i'm in open-loop? I would need to be in open loop i think since the wideband wont be effective.

You should consider starting a new thread on the progress of your car in the build thread section. You will get more traffic from there, and are more likely to get some responses to your posts.
