What's happening other Miata people? Just enjoying my little car that could. In fact, she had a recent rebirth with a few new upgrades (Turbo, clutch, shift kit….) but ultimately keeping it off the track. Just doing it for fun and cause I've always wanted too. I’m hoping to bounce questions off some of the pros on here if possible. Be great to learn and share what I've experienced as we go.
Now I just need to grasp all the settings, graphs, and all the other “things” to understand the voodoo the MS does to make the engine go. I need help! Haha!
Anyways, like I said I’m 42, Father of 2, ones outta school and ones in school. Always enjoyed car stuff, do regular maintenance type of thing typically. But after getting my Miata and seeing all the fun messing with theses cars can be, I had to give it a try. Finished all the upgrades just last week 8/31 and then ran into tuning. (Oh sh*t!) Something I've never dabbled in. A bit confusing at the moment, I have many questions. I wonder the general order/steps to get from ok tune to “now I’m just messing with the "small" things.” Is it more VE tuning or does a person VE tune for a bit, maybe adjust some other settings and repeat. See… I really have no clue what is possible.
Anyways, I'm happy to be here. I hope I can eventually be helpful to others.
And thank you!

Oh man, tuning can become an entire project of it's own, but it's a lot of fun. I've always heard that a good tuner is one that can get a tune setup quickly and doesn't have to go back and touch it, but I always end up tinkering with my tune.
OGPedXing on youtube is one of the classics for MegaSquirt tuning on Miata's ( https://www.youtube.com/@OGPedXing/videos ). Full disclosure I haven't watched any of that stuff in ages, but I know there was some useful info when I started poking around in tuner studio.
There's a ton of good info on here as well, MegaSquirt's been the go-to for Miata's for ages.
Also, if you can, putting some details about your car in your signature will help people give you better feedback for your specific setup (MS2 vs MS3, fuel type, turbo size, etc....)
You are in the right place for those questions, but as I am neither an MS user or a DIY tuner, I'll leave it to others to respond on that matter. In the meantime, have a look here MS thread .

Reason: update!
That took a bit but, I've updated all the things...I think LOL
Also added a couple pics. It's a nice clean car.
Is there a manual for MS that explains how the settings effect the car? The manuals at MSEXTRA tend to explain the setting but not its function in relation to its effects. I've found the TunerStudio reference PDF falls short of explaining that.
I guess I should stay a noob... Geez LOL.. I uploaded an album, and I think I took too long, was signed out, and by default(?) the album was put under a profile named;

Thank you Firedc! Truly, the nicest item I own! lol!! Thankfully the missus won’t see this!
Currently straightening out some kinks since the turbo install. Specifically I’m looking for the best methods to shed the excess heat from the turbo. Once I’ve got this sorted out it’ll be all good!
Otherwise the engine runs great!
Overall I’m as happy as can be with it! I love it in fact!!
