Hello, my name is Tyler. I bought a 90 in the middle of the summer and promptly screwed it up, it had a stripped-then helicoiled #4 spark plug that I didn't find until too late, and now I believe I'm facing a warped block . I'm in the process of finding a 1.8, fixing some botched body work and de-stancing.
I very been a rotary guy for the last 6 years and wanted to try something different. So far I've been read doing the interior and ordering parts to get the car up and running so I can at least enjoy it while I build up the turbo set up. Looking forward to reading as much as I can about everyone's set ups.
Welcome to the forum. You are in the right track swapping the 1.6 for a 1.8 and de-stancing the car. Get the 1.8 rear diff and axles while you are at it. The 1.6 diffs often fail at stock power levels.
There is a lot of information in the sticky threads and the build threads are a great source of do's and don'ts. You can learn a lot by following the right build threads from start to finish.
Thanks, ya I read about how weak the rear end is so I've been hesitant to drive the car too rough. Biggest issue I'm having is it seems like every 1.8 in my area is around 1200$ running or not.
