New daily/track project from Socal
Hello All,
First off This is a great forum and 95% of the people in here are very helpful. I have been trolling for awhile and wanted to thank everyone in advance for all the great info.
I got me a 1991 Miata about a year ago and it was almost on its way to the junkyard. It was someones abandoned project with a bad transmission and in bad condition overall. I got it for $200 and it came with a Harddog roll bar and good transmission that i had to install/replace myself. I have since installed a 97 1.8L with 24k miles on the engine, 6 puck clutch, 3" cat-back exhaust and 6UL's. The car is dog slow and ill handling right now, but hopefully i can have that all resolved soon (within 3-6 months) depending on funds. I have also built a MS-I with Brainack's instructions, but have yet to install till i get all the pieces to finish the turbo system. I would like to track this car as soon as i get the power issues resolved then i will have to deal with the handling issues later. Anyways here are some pic's of the car and the exhaust.

Nice work indeed, looks pretty clean. More pictures? You're thinking a little backwords though, track it N/A first and sort out your handling and braking issues, then put the MS on and make sure it works correctly on the street and track, then turbo it. Once it's turboed you'll be throwing all your money and time into the car keeping the turbo system running.

Agree with Curly on that. Learn to drive it NA. Get the handling into shape. Learning NA is cheaper (fewer broken parts, less expensive brake pads, easier on parts, etc) your mistakes will be a lower speeds, you will learn better driving techniques without the power covering your mistakes. With limited power you learn to be smooth. That's a good thing.
