Default New Florida guy

Not new to miatas, I had an NA and an NB2 previously. I am hoping to piece together a kit for my 2013 PRHT club. I'm based out of Gainesville if there is anyone around.

Welcome to the forum. Do you have plans to track it one day?

I would like to. I have a Power hard top though, so there are no SCCA approved roll bars that work with my top. I would have to find a bolt-in bar I can throw on and remove before/after track days on top of praying for no rain. So if I can work the logistics out, I would love to make it out to a road course. Otherwise I am restricted to autox or drag racing.

There is a guy selling a rollbar for a retractable hard top NC I linked early on in dochudson's thread. It would certainly be legal for NASA, HOD, Chin, or PDG track days. I don't know the specifics of SCCA requirements and don't much care because they aren't much fun to be with in comparison.

Thanks for the heads up. I'm not sure if I'm having a reading comprehension fail, but it looks like the guy has an NC and bought an NB bar mistakenly. I contacted Hard Dog to see if they have anything that might fit. I'm hoping they have something that'll allow the hard top mechanism to work.

How much extra weight does the PRHT add? If I had an NC with a PRHT and wanted to go to the track, I'd probably buy an NA track rat rather than try to find a roll bar for the NC.

It's about 70-80lb more. I am not too serious about racing to justify a secondary money pit

IDK, I bet you can get a track-worthy NA for about the same price as a custom made roll bar for your NC.

Plus the old saying of "don't take to the track what you can't afford to write off."

Maybe for the price of a custom made roll bar which I would never consider on the NC. I never said I was looking for a custom one though. I agree on your second point.
