Default New guy alert!

hello world! My name is Ryan, I'm 29, and live in South Carolina. This sad, sad car you see before you is the old 1995 Miata that's been sitting in my father's driveway since 2016 (prob longer.) My brother bought this car in around 2008-2010. His plans were to do a nice supercharged build on it but like always when we want something really bad life slaps us in the face. Long story short he hit hard times and it became a daily driver for him and he eventually sold it to my dad with the intention to buy it back. Well here we are years later it's been sitting caked in pollen and started super rarely. Now me, I'm just a poor ol heavy equipment operator throwing pine logs around all day. I drive a 1995 Buick Riviera (like miata also white) and love it, however. It need help. Tires, breaks, power steering rack, icm, and prob more I just can't think of sitting here in this tractor. Basically it's been nickel and dimeing me for about 2 years. Well I talked to my brother about the Miata and what all we'd have to do to get it moving and how much we thought my dad would sell it to me for. Power steering, fluids, and a battery. Simple enough. So I fig I could go talk to my father the next day and see what's up. To my surprise he just gave it to me

So a few days went buy and I found out about depowering a rack and really look into everything I could do to this car and thanks to alot of reading on this site and the interwebs in general I fig I'd take my dad up on the free car. I got up with my brother yesterday to go ahead and rip the rack out and depower it. Started at like 12 had it back in the car in about an HR or so. (Don't panic I did it right thanks to you guys) we checked for oil leaks and fluids to see if it was ready to start. Everything checked out so he put the jump box on it and it turned the key to hear a very slight struggle then she fired right up. We took it around the block and let's just say now its time to have some fun

First things first I gotta sell the Buick :( super sad about that but I'll just wait till I can afford my boat tail

2nd. I need a 5 speed. I don't want an auto in this car that seems pointless to me it's garbage. And cuz it's an auto I'll need an lsd to go with that 5 speed

3rd. LAMBO DOORS!! Best mod ever!!!

No, not doing that

But in the end I want 300hp. I have plans but we'll see what happens. I guess it's time to really read what you guys have to offer. Thanks for making this place and thanks for having me.

Definitely not. It was free so I'll take that money and do it myself. I'd rather know who was working on the car vs some random dude

Without a doubt. He will likely have a manual XMSN lying around, and will build you a drop-in turbo kit.

If I don't have something I know who in the area does have it.

I don't think I have any spare 5 speeds at the moment, but I do have a spare pedal set.

Also Here is a link to my up coming dyno day I am having in May.

5 speeds are cheap and plentiful...but if you are wanting 300hp, might as well go 6 speed...

Prepare your bank account... this about to get expensive!

Welcome

No, I want his money. But if he buys your stuff I can pick it up and deliver for the right amount of cash.

I sell excavators and wheel loaders. What do you typically operate?

Shuiend is a good guy and a good guy to know.

Welcome to the forum.

At 220whp it will eat 4.6 Mustang GT's easily and you can keep the engine stock and use the cheaper and better 5 speed.

Yeah I know. But for now untill I get the 2nd engine built I'll just run a 5 speed with the stock 1.8
