Default New guy, No car

Hey everybody! Shane here. You’re probably wondering why I would join this forum without a miata right? Well I had one up until last week, a beautiful bone stock mariner blue 91 mx5 with no rust and not a scratch inside. I bought it ~3 years ago, and as one does, I had big dreams of turbos and track days. Long story short(ish), I bought a pile of new parts, moved about an hour and a half away from my parents where the car stayed parked, and drove it about 100 km the entire time I owned it. Let’s just say the amount of time I’ve spent lurking in the shadows on this forum far outweighed the time I spent with the car. Well now here I am, no car, bunch of parts I need to get rid of, and about 8 more posts to put out before I’m allowed to post anything to sell (no shade admins plz don’t ban me).
So let’s talk about what went wrong. I had worked on cars a bit before I started out on this stupid pipe dreams. Id had a 2008 Audi A4 with a laundry list of parts that I’ve been fighting to keep on the road basically since I got it, because euro. I love it, but did some track days with it and quickly realized a family sedan with a severe understeer issue was not ideal. So my hunt for a track car began. It didn’t take long for me to find a beautiful na (pre-Covid pricing) and started to learn everything I could about trackspeeds turbo kits and how to maintain as much longevity as possible with a track-specific build. I had budgeted pretty big and wasn’t willing to cut any corners, up until I got laid off from my job at the start of the pandemic. Let’s just say that put a damper on my motivation and ability to keep buying parts that ended up sitting in boxes. I noticed prices starting to skyrocket for Miatas in Alberta, found a buyer in another province, and went through an absolute nightmare of a sale that lasted over 3 months, but we’ll leave that story for another time.
So anyway, to summarize what I’m try to say: Hi.
