Saying Hi/Crying For Help in Augusta, GA
Hello all! I've been lurking for a couple months and decided to make an account. As the title states I live in Augusta, GA where I play drums for the Army.
My car is a 2002 Miata in Crystal Blue. Currently the only things I've done to it are:
-60k service
-rebuild the shifter/change the tranny fluid
- install an eBay radiator
-15x7 Konig Dial-in wheels
And I have some eBay/bilstien coilovers that I'm going to install once I get the right sized wrenches.
Here's a pic of how it's sitting now:
I plan on turboing the car eventually, but there are a lot of things I need to get squared. away first. I want the car to be totally fresh before I get into adding power. I also need to get better at driving, so far I've done 2 autoxs and I want to do more plus some HPDEs and the like. I don't care about winning, but I do want to learn how to control a car at speed.
Finally, I need to get better at wrenching I've never really done much other than spark plugs and oil changes. I made it through the 60k service, thanks to the multiple bolt-by-bolt guides but between snags and uncooperative weather the car was down for a week. While I understand the idea of installing and tuning a turbo setup, the million little things that can pop up make my head spin.
That brings me to my cry for help: If there are any members in the area who need a hand with something--turbo related or not--PLEASE hit me up. I may not have much experience with cars, but I have a lot of practice following instructions and I would really appreciate the opportunity to learn more about our cars and meet people who care about them. Thanks!

Awesome! the car looks pretty good. Welcome to the site! im sure you will find everything you need on this site. Maybe even a few members in your area. Thats awesome that you play drums for the army! just a general Army band? or like, Army Jazz? Rock? do you play at all outside of that?
Thanks for the warm welcomes!

Welcome to the forum. Reading through the build threads and some of the stickies will help you get some idea what obstacles you may face and may answer questions you may have.
The post auto hobby shop is a great place to watch and learn. I spent many hours there myself.
