Default New Guy in WA

Hey guys, after being out of the car game for a while I recently traded my civic daily driver for a 1994 Miata base with a hardtop. The car came turbo with a T25, Tial 38mm @8psi, 2.5" exhaust running a Link ecu, it already has a Kaaz 1.5 differential installed as well.

Looking forward to getting some things sorted out with the car and learning a lot here!

Just ordered an Aem wideband so I can keep my eyes on the AFRs before I turn the boost up!!

Welcome to the forum. I commend you on making a wideband your first purchase. The lack of one previously calls everything the PO did into question. What ECU is it using?

Thanks, this is my 2nd NA-> Forced induction car. I did most of my learning with the first one. Car runs a MiataLink Ecu. Previous owner had a wideband installed, did the auto learn tune function and then started selling parts once he decided he was going to get rid of the car. It had a rollbar, bride seats, wheels etc. The wideband was one of the things to go. He was a pretty good guy, built the manifold and all the exhaust and intercooler piping himself. Not a bad fabricator. He said he tuned the AFRs to be safe underboost but the Link ecu did most of the work. Once I get the knock sensor installed and can check the AFRs, I'll throw a boost control solenoid in it and get a proper tune on the dyno.

Did you mean the car has an FM-Link from Flyin' Miata? You can download their tuning and installation manuals.

I have a '95, still running an FM-Link. I'm in the Edmonds area, so if you get stuck on something, shoot me a PM.

Oh yeah, we're also going to need pictures of your cat (ummm, you *do* have a cat, right???) and pictures of your girlfriend.

It's Board Policy.

No worries, we don't all have cats here, although we all love them.

Welcome, dogs really do love these cars and the wind in their ears.
