Hello,
finally making a post due to chasing power. between here and miata.net i got all the information i needed to turbo my car. A 95 base edition miata with 96k miles, good compression, and a dream to go faster. And I did it, I read maximum boost, replaced the clutch with a flyin miata stage one clutch. Got some flow force 640cc injectors and a megasquirt pnppro3 and learned to tune enough to not blow up my engine. Then got my kraken top mount turbo kit with a 2560r and installed that and tuned again. Replaced my radiator with a 949 csf radiator. And installed a boost solenoid and had the car remote tuned by speed by y for 11 psi. Installed a switch to turn on and off the boost solenoid for wastegate psi or tuned psi which I love. And now it's good
I got the car to replace my motorcycle, after 9 years of riding i got tired of puttin on all the gear as opposed to turning a key, and my wife can ride along easier. Also missed working on things. Im a 30 YO MK1 in the coast guard in charge of a shop on a boat, so I have access to all sorts of specialized tools. So I figured I'd get back into miatas, I had my first miata, 2009 grand touring, for 7 years and me and my wife drove across country in twice. Sold it back during covid due to thinking I was tired of it and got a different daily driver but now I'm back into it.
I my current plan is not to far in the future, take out the engine and trans again and build the engine. I have already acquired a 6 speed transmission and everything else in my build should help support my new goal of 300 hp. I dont race, I would like to but the job keeps me close and busy but I like having something to work on, and at this point I'm building it because I want to prove I can. My job is all about troubleshoot and replace parts, anything from diesel engine parts to hydraulic and refrigeration. But I want something I can build myself. I have done all the work except changing tires and alignment...and the final tune. So here I am, making a post to ask questions as they come up due to how much more intensive it is to cross the 250wtq barrier.
My current plans are replace the rods and pistons with 8.5, a new oil pump, I have a machine shop somewhat near me for any machine work needed. But eventually I will make a post double checking/ asking what should be done while it's out.
And that's my story..also im currently in Astoria Oregon

@emilio700 Has SUPERMIATA considered selling a top radiator hose for the SUPERMIATA radiator and people NOT using a coolant re-route?
(ie. one that DOESN'T rub the TB elbow?)
