New Miata owner from the Detroit area, saying Hi.
Hi everyone, my name is Shiv.
A while back I had the pleasure of owning a 94 M Edition Miata. It was Montego Blue Mica and had 130k miles on it. It was my first love, and since getting rid of it due to some family issues, I have been looking for a replacement ever since.
In comes my new Miata - a 2000 Red LS, with 37k, a FM VooDoo II turbo kit, Vmaxx springs, and a few other mods.
So far from what I've read on the forums, I've realized that the VooDoo box is not too liked around these parts, and I'm hoping to possibly upgrade to MS next summer, after I gather more knowledge.
I also read up on the idle droop issue I have been experiencing, and seems like a common problem with the 00' NBs. I'm hoping to remedy this issue in the near future, as Im sure the solution is in on of the forum threads.
Anyway, just wanted to "de-noob" myself and say Hi. As a new turbocharged car owner, I am excited about the many aspects of my Miata I will learn about here, as well as possibly meetup with some fellow enthusiasts who happen to be in the Greater Detroit area.
Cheers,
Shiv

Haha some time away always helps. That's what I'm telling myself right now before I revisit my stupid idle problem once it's warmer. And you're right, the voodoo box will have to come off at some point. Just trying to make it run right before I get in too deep haha
Are the miatas your DD? The snow is currently halfway up my door right now.

What's snow? Here's a 70*F hello for you, haha.
Welcome to the forum. Yes, MS is the common language here when it comes to engine management. The support level here is the best reason to go that way.
We're glad to have you here.

I don't know of a life without Miatas. I drive 30 miles to work every day, did just fine this morning. You'd be surprised how well a Miata does in the snow with the proper set of tires.
Are you on xceed? The only public winter time event that i know of is the westland one. Sometimes the Michigan Miata and Michigan Mazda facebook groups put crap together.

I joined xceed - looks like a promising group, thanks for the lead. Do you participate in any autocross or racing events?

I hit Milan pretty often, probably a little over half a dozen times a year even if i just go to watch.
When my car was N/A i did more autocrosses, since the turbo i've only done a few.
I also kinda host / co host a trip to the tail of the dragon every year (except last year). There is also usually an Xceed BBQ that happens two or three times a year. That usually rakes in 300-500 cars, depending on the weather.

Yeah, last year too. Allen Park does a pretty good job of getting snow cleared so i'm usually good. What's up with your red car? Is it out of commission?
