Default New Miata owner - turbo plans for this summer

Hello everyone,

Just bought my second Miata, a 1990 Mariner blue in great shape. Plans are to put together a turbo kit for it on the stock 1.6 liter while staying budget friendly. currently in the process of researching what route to take. I also plan on competing at a local circle track with it.

Circle track? That's a new one.

At least it's not drifting.

Blue is no good. You need a new paint scheme.

This should do nicely.

Yah, its just a local track mostly used for stupid super stock cars, but they have a "spectator race" at all the major events. Usually dominated by highly modded camaros, but theres a turbo miata that does well in the event everytime, and he is rocking a budget greddy turbo kit and some nitto's.

Is it a timed race where one car goes on the track at a time? Not so sure I would put my street car on a circle track with a bunch of other cars. It does sound like fun.

Circle drags! I did that a few times with my Talon, but not in the Miata. I'm not sure I'd get out alive if I took it down there. At the local oval the format is a 1/4 mile drag race, but you turn left while you do it, completing one lap of the track. Two cars at a time, winners advance, etc, usually a $100 payout for the winner.
