Default newb from VT

I bought a $450 NA, odo says 250k but prev. owner says

Turns out is has the VLSD, and is a 5spd.

Went from ...

to

So far, I replaced the timing belt that snapped the second time I turned it on, the slipping clutch with an ACT HD, and the mis-matched stock suspension with a custom Bilstein coilover setup I made. Also threw on some rims. And a bunch of little bs.

I've raced and worked on turbo cars since '04 but I'm a complete Miata

Looking to build a DIY low-budget turbo setup, nothing crazy. I'd like 200whp. In the research phase! Mainly stuck on the tuning part of it. Trying to figure out how the stock ECU works. Onwards from here.

Nice forum.

welcome

Don't bother with the stock ecu. Go megasquirt. 200whp is easily attainable if you do a little reading and carefully choose proper components.

They are 205/50/15. I think. Whatever the stock tire size is. Way too thin for my 15x8's. Would like to run 235s if I turbo it, and add flares.

I wonder how hard it would be to swap a DSM ECU & harness into an NA?

2k, does your cousin race up here? If so I may know him / her.

Wow, I have 205s too and dont look as meaty as yours.

Dont do it build your own megasquirt, or just buy one.
