Default Noob from Central Florida w/ MSM

I want to introduce myself to the Turbo community. My name is Robert. I'm a full time college student looking to get my degree in Civil Engineering. I really didn't really have any interest in the Miata until I found my way into a Spec Miata in 2007. Since then, I've been hooked with the Miata and the community around it. My first DD was a White 93 and my second Miata was a 97 m-Edition. My third and current is a 2004 Mazdaspeed Miata Velocity Red. The first mod I've done was a MAF relocation kit which I'm having problems with. My goal is a daily driver weekend warrior. I want it to get me from point a to point b and go have fun on the weekends, autocross events and other driving events. Once I have the car paid off, I want to build a motor and upgrade the turbo so something more powerful. I think a goal of 300-400 whp isn't a bad number to shoot. for. As for me, I grew up around racing and I've been racing since I was 11. I started off racing Quarter Midgets in 2003. I ended up the 2005 Florida State champion in both of my divisions. I also won many other events and a 2 time Tangerine winner for 2004 and 2006. I was the first driver to grand slam the event, meaning qualify number one, set track recond, and win the event. 49 years of racing at that event and no one ever done what I did. I also grand slammed my third Tangerine in 2006 for my retirement year. Since them I moved from Quarter Midgets to Legends and then to Spec Miata. Due to rough times, the Spec Miata has gone up for sale and I looking at alternative to racing, including Autocross events. My MSM only has the MAF relocation kit on it along with Boss Frog Double Hoop roll bar. I also change the hood to a Chaser Aero hood I replaced the stock rims with Konig Flatout with 205/50-15 Nitto NeoGens. You can see my car in this picture next to Ozbrock's LO MSM.

More pictures can be found here on this Build thread I have on Mazdaroadster.

This is a picture of my Spec Miata

I working on a up to date picture of my car soon once I have my camera fixed.

Hey. I remember your car at Miatapalooza. I believe I talked to you as well. Me and FrankB had two MSM's, Black Mica and whatever the MSM silver is called, that were located close to you guys.

Welcome to the site. I would suggest getting a megasquirt. It is the best overall mod I have put on my car hands down.

I know there where two MSM across from us, a black and silver. I might of said hi but I don't remember who I spoke to. I tend to forget stuff very easily. But yes, the Megasquirt is in the To Get list. I've already talked to Reverant and I want to get the MS3 during the next group buy that comes around.

Interesting hood. Looks like it would actually work.

Does it feel any lighter than the stocker?

Nope, about the same. It a Chaser Aero hood, fiberglass underneath with a carbon fiber laid over top. Don't know if it real or fake. Fit not as perfect but it works and it actually functional.

Welcome to the forum. RyanG and I just did a track weekend at Sebring with NASA. I'll try to let you know when I go again.

Post your location so it shows under your screen name. There are other locals on here.

As a courtesy to others, please try and incorporate a few paragraph breaks. Many people won't be bothered to read that wall of text.

Orlando, Fl, I forgot to add it. I was running SCCA up til last year. I can't afford it anymore.

I don't take much photos of my car unfortunately. Never seem to a camera handy when I find that nice spot for a photo.

I said insert some paragraph breaks, not photographs. As in, every three or four sentences, hit the [ENTER] button to break up all those words.
