Talking Noob check in.

Thought I would check in. Here first. Right?
I have a red 1994 Miata (not a 'yata). Bought it early last year. The car was in pretty good shape, just needed all the maintenance, and the standard radiator replacement. But the best part was no rust.
I bought some hypergram wheels and replaced the exhaust. The car was fun, but getting smoked by anything and everything at lights was starting to suck. I was researching turbo kits and I randomly came across a guy selling a Miata in rough shape with an FM turbo kit (GT2560). It even had the FM clutch, radiator & fans, 2.5" exhaust, cat, and a JDM 1.8 motor. I had a used Hydra 2.7 that I didn't install yet also. All the FM parts had less that 10k miles. I rolled the dice, drove 6 hours and bought the car for a pretty good deal. I pieced the rest of the parts together I needed and installed it all (except for the 1.8), and everything worked good. I realized quick that the stock injectors couldn't even handle the lowest boost for my setup. So I bought some EV14's and finally got everything running pretty good about a week ago. Just in time to take it off the road for winter.
I really don't have any questions. I hope I could do more contributing than asking but we'll see, I guess. I am a little bummed about looking for a good set of Bilstein's to make into coilovers. I read most of the thread and got really excited. But I think everybody's been thinking the same thing, I can't seem to find any good deals. It seems like for a few dollars more than what used Bilstein's are going for, I could get a new set of Koni's instead. Has anybody else seen this?
My plans for the winter are to improve, or replace the seats so I can fit better, get the suspension set up, move the front plate from the front air inlet, get a good set of tires, find a 3.9 diff, or just a ring and pinion, get a full set of gauges (right now just boost), upgrade the brake pads (already have lines), and possibly weld the front body seams as per FM. Has anybody done the welding? I didn't search it yet. I want to get some dyno time in next spring.

Welcome to the forum. Are you planning on doing track days or just making it a street car?

I seam welded around the door frame and it made a big difference. I've got pictures in my build thread linked below. That plus a roll bar and garage star door bushings stiffened the car right up.
