Why yes. Very. As jdm as jdm gets. I even bought it off a little Japanese kid at the local hibachi place. He said it was authentic. It has to be!

All lol aside. Welcome. Surely there's a lot to learn and there's plenty of resources available to you buried in the colon of this site. Props if you're somehow finding the time to enjoy a hobby, even if the car is a bit rough, while being a dad to (multiple?) children.

What is your goal out of this car? Just something to beat and move on, or you going to hang onto it for a while, or constantly rebuilding the ratty phoenix every time it breaks.

I'm a full time student and single father of two kids. I'm 25yo. I plan on getting around 200-250hp and just playing with it at the track. I love driving it. The most comfy thing ever. But its not my only ride. I dont know anything about turbo or the mx5. I've learned alot since I owned it. But not nearly as much as I will learn. And if I get good enough at drifting I wanna start trying to go pro am. My inspiration is Danny George. Allthough he is about a foot shorter than me lol. He proves that the Miata can be a valuable drift car.

That's a lot on your plate, single parent and studies. Hopefully you get it setup for some good fun, but maybe prioritize? Start a build thread with more pictures.

I'm not expecting it to. I'm expecting my degree in computer science to. My kids are well taken care of, trust me.

Ok well just to clear some obviously misinformed people up, I am a 25yo united states navy veteran. I served four years as military police. I'm not some immature punk who wants to smash his car. I drift on a closed track in safe conditions. I was simply introducing myself. Now your bashing on my parenting which I find to be immature and ignorant.

It's called hazing, don't get too upset over it. You did bring this on yourself though, especially since you claim to have lurked this place before, you should know how we feel about "drifters".

If you're actually doing it in a controlled environment and not putting other people in danger, then that's good.

I know how you feel, and the hazing and car bashing didn't bother me. It was talking **** on my parenting that pissed me off.

Good on you for just taking it in stride. A lot of people come here and freak out when someone insults them. You will learn that most guys here are nice but get enjoyment out of noob bashing. If you laugh it off and read some more you will be fine. Don't take any personal insults to seriously, it is the internet after all.
