Best advice you can get: Don't drift it.

Welcome to the forums.

gospeed81 03-02-2010 01:24 PM

Nope...he's opposed to turbocharging because it "hurts" the car...

Welcome anyways.

Full_Tilt_Boogie 03-02-2010 01:25 PM

*facepalm*

Yah, boost is soooo mean to the car. Especially since the engine was designed, by mazda, to be turbocharged...

NAD1Guy 03-02-2010 01:28 PM

actually i want to build the 1600cc all motor itb for drift comp first
not sure what power the motor can produce turbo'd

then maybe swap :naughty:

thanks ill keep a good eye out

also lookin for a cage for it what wont interfere with soft top or hard top

any suggestions?
also a good and affordable suspension kit

A LOT more than your all-motor ITB setup...and for much less money.

Unless you just have something against torque.

didnt know that, and im not opposed to forced induction but ive seen a lot of blown motors that way so im not to good with it yet but will be if i decide to boost

thanks everyone will post pics later when i get my camera :]

Full_Tilt_Boogie 03-02-2010 01:36 PM

ITBs ~100 hp

Stupi-charger ~140 hp

Turbo ~230+ hp

The choice is obvious imo

also, not matter what you do, youre going to have to replace the rear differential, it will break.

Braineack 03-02-2010 01:42 PM

weber carbs.

Common swap is the 1.8 Torsen from 94+ cars. The 1.6 diff has been recorded to fail at stock power, and some have also been recorded to hold twice stock power :dunno:

Dont take that as advice that yours will hold out for whatever is that you have in mind.

Stock 1.6, open or vlsd, yes. Make sure to check what type of differencial (Open or Torsen) the 94 youre looking at has. You dont want to pay Torsen coin for an open diff.

BTW put your location under you SN, there might be locals willing to help you and guide you to stay out of drifting :giggle:

Your only consern is whether is open or LSD (Torsen), VLSD is only found on 1.6
