Best advice you can get: Don't drift it.

Welcome to the forums.

Nope...he's opposed to turbocharging because it "hurts" the car...

Welcome anyways.

*facepalm*

Yah, boost is soooo mean to the car. Especially since the engine was designed, by mazda, to be turbocharged...

A LOT more than your all-motor ITB setup...and for much less money.

Unless you just have something against torque.

ITBs ~100 hp

Stupi-charger ~140 hp

Turbo ~230+ hp

The choice is obvious imo

also, not matter what you do, youre going to have to replace the rear differential, it will break.

Common swap is the 1.8 Torsen from 94+ cars. The 1.6 diff has been recorded to fail at stock power, and some have also been recorded to hold twice stock power

Dont take that as advice that yours will hold out for whatever is that you have in mind.

Stock 1.6, open or vlsd, yes. Make sure to check what type of differencial (Open or Torsen) the 94 youre looking at has. You dont want to pay Torsen coin for an open diff.

BTW put your location under you SN, there might be locals willing to help you and guide you to stay out of drifting

Your only consern is whether is open or LSD (Torsen), VLSD is only found on 1.6
