Default Noob from Vancouver

Hi everyone! Thanks for letting join the group. I'm Giacomo, 28yo, I now live in Vancouver with my wife but I grew up in Italy. Anyway, I own a midnight blu '90 miata with 1.8 swap, tein basic, racing beat sway bars and headers, yonaka aluminum radiator with coolant reroute, Bride bucket seats and omp deep dish steering wheel. I started to autox the car since this year and I love it. I'm planning to go turbo really really soon: everything's ready except for few fittings that are on their way. It's my dd and I have a power goal of 200hp. I'll post my set up as soon as I dyno the car. Hope to meet some of you around: there's always something to learn! Thanks again.
Cheers

Welcome to the forum. There's a lot more rain in Vancouver than Italy, yes?

Yeah, definitely more rain here than Italy but I like it anyway! I'm from the North so I wasn't shock to bad. Today also snowed quite a bit here and I had so much fun driving around. Roads weren't treated with salt yet.

Welcome! Between the Doug fir needles & road salt, keep a close eye on your front fenders down by the rockers. They get clogged up really easily and will eventually rust. It only takes a couple fasteners down at the bottom of the fender to loosen it enough to bang out the crud. I think it's an important piece of miata maintenance if you drive it in the PNW winters.

Thanks for the tip...you're right about it. It snowed here the past days few days and I moved the car just for one day: now that it's on jack stands for the turbo conversion I can see a thin layer of salt everywhere even after a wash!

I saw you at autocross sometime last year. I just finished my turbo build, if you need any advice or whatever.
I have drills & taps for 1/8", 3/8", 1/2" NPT if you need 'em.
Come find me at the next autocross you end up at!

Hey there. Nice to know that and surely I'll talk with you at the next autox. I'm waiting to start the new season with VCMC. Thanks for your help anyway I forgot to post the updates. I turboed the miata and dynoed 204whp at racing greed! I'm very happy about it. Running 14psi. Nice kick over 3k rpm.

My son and I are from Victoria and will be over to catch the odd track day and autocross.
Hope to run into you!

BTW When we first started our project we were looking at 250ish hp and the name MK Turbo kept coming up...I would have a look!

Greetings from Kamloops, was down to your neck of the woods last weekend. I thought our roads up here were I bad shape up here , you win . Much worse down there. Waiting for spring here (or at least the absence of sand and salt ) before pulling the Miata out of storage . Cheers Fredb
